Calina & Scott | Engaged | Portraits

When Calina and Scott decided to use us as their wedding photographers, we instantly started talking about ideas for their engagement photos. Everyone shoots engagement photos in the spring or the warm weather so we started tossing around the idea of shooting them in the snow. Tricky part is, snow is completely unpredictable haha! So after the first major snowfall of the season, we found a time that worked with everyone's schedules, left the little man with his grandparents, and headed out to have an afternoon playing in the snow!

This session could not have been more perfect for Calina and Scott! They are such fun loving people and we are so honored that we got to be a part of their wedding day!!! Its not often that you meet completely real, genuine people who love God and are just the sweetest people you know. We have become such great friends through photographing them and we really cannot wait for October!!! We love you guys and we cannot wait to see all that God does in and through you both!!!

Enjoy our favorites from this snowy engagement session!

Thank you guys so much for letting us be part of your story. Watching your love for each other inspires us so much and we are so beyond blessed to be part of your lives!!! We can't wait for our next trip to the park for your wedding portraits!!!! We love you both!!!!!

Malachi's First Christmas | Personal

I know its a month later, but we wanted to share a little piece of Malachi's first Christmas with you all!! We have been so busy over the last few weeks that this is the soonest I have been able to get things together to show you all the fun and festiveness that was a Morris Family Christmas.

Malachi was such a fun age this year. He was old enough that he could help us tear through all the paper and he was so excited to have something new to play with!! We got Malachi a few gifts from us and of course his grandparents spoiled him quite a bit ;) but it was just such a relaxing morning experiencing something new with him.

We started some new family traditions this year which I am really excited about. Ive said for as long as I can remember that when I grew up and got married and had kids that we were all going to wear matching pajamas on Christmas morning. Corny. But so very fun. Don't judge us. And in true Morris fashion, they were Disney! On Christmas Eve, Malachi got to open his first gift, which were his special pajamas (He had already worn them for his 9 month photos, but hey, he's a baby. He doesn't know that haha) and a special Christmas book to read before bed. This year it was a baby proof version of the night before Christmas with cardboard pages so that he didn't rip them! He loved looking at the pictures in that book and next year when hes a little bigger, I have a feeling that will be one of his favorite Christmas stories to read. We went to the candlelight service at the church and it was so beautiful this year. Nic led all of the music and I taught the little girls a dance to open the service with. It was so good to be there and to be involved this year.

This year was really fun because for the first time we got to play santa. We wrapped the gifts and put them under the tree. We took our time shopping and picking out what we thought that Malachi would love. And it was so much fun to do all the things from this side of it. Being a parent definitely brought the magic back to Christmas.

On Christmas morning his little face was just to very priceless. He couldn't decide what to look at first. He eventually got worn out by all the excitement and just layed on the floor for a while haha!! Nic and I kept Christmas simple this year for each other and put the focus on Malachi. Nic has been wanting a nice leather journal for quite a while and this year I found him the perfect one. Its leather bound and made in Italy and it has sheet music pressed into the leather written in Italian. Its completely beautiful and unique and I really dont think I could have found something better. Not bragging, but hey. When youre on youre on haha!! But Nic's gift took it all this year. He told me that he made me something for Christmas and I for the life of me could not figure out what that meant coming from a guy. Girls get that crafty thing. Making scrapbooks and stuff. But coming from him? I didnt even know where to start. Well come Christmas morning I was in for a real surprise. My beautiful, wonderful, amazing, caring, God-send of a husband, wrote me a song. And honestly, I never need another gift again. That just took it all. Nothing will ever top hearing his heart in a way that no one else has. Nothing. That moment will always be my favorite one.

Here are some of our favorite moments from Christmas 2014!!

And those are our favorites!! There are hundreds more that we could share with you all, because we are totally those parents that take too many pictures of our kid and we want to show them to world because of his vast cuteness and the joy that he is, but. We only shared like 40. And I think thats enough for you all :) We hope you enjoyed getting to know us a little bit more and you enjoyed even more getting to spend Christmas morning with our family!! We can't wait to see what this year brings!!!
