The Vernau/Curtis Family | Family Portraits

Tragedy is something that we all have to go through at some point in our lives. Most of us have lost someone who is close to us and I know personally, losing someone is something that is so hard to bare. That feeling inside is one that aches for a long time, and life doesnt always feel like it will move forward. Its a paralyzing feeling, really. But then, somehow, life does go on. You remember the beauty in the everyday. You remember why you keep going. And sometimes, a miracle happens and new life comes and gives us meaning again.

The Vernau and Curtis families have been through more loss than most people will ever have to endure in their entire lifetime. They have lost a father, a mother, and a brother all suddenly and without warning. Two of which they have lost in the last year. But out of all these tragedies, something beautiful happen. Stephanie, one of my lifelong friends, and her husband David welcomed their first son into the world this year. Brian, who is named after Stephanie's father who passed away, was born this past July and has brought so much joy to this family. Watching his grandparents from both sides interact with him, and the love that is in their eyes just melted every part of my heart. This little boy is so blessed with a family that loves and adores him. Capturing new life and new sweet memories for this family meant more to me than any other session I have ever done.
